Ravenscroft football club logo

It’s nice to see some of my work being used outside of the usual digital or print media. This is the logo I created as a favour for Ravenscroft FC.

Definitive Promotions Logo

Definitive Promotions are hoping that 2010 will be their biggest and busiest year, and with plans for hundreds of events already in the pipeline, Spreadthick was charged with the task of re-branding this time served Liverpool business.

Here’s what we came up with…

Understanding the purpose of a logo.

This post from Brian Hoff, owner of The Design Cubicle explains what a logo doesn’t need to be or do. It’s easy for designers to moan about a client’s requests and their lack of knowledge about design. But the fact of the matter is, it is the responsibility of the designer to define the purpose of the design before creating it. This post does the job for you take a look.

Ad of the day – Well groomed lion

What can I really say about this ad? It’s another ad that carries an intelligent and humorous message so well that it works perfectly without the need for any copy at all. It’s grrrrreat!

The IET regional newsletter project

I know my last post was about my work too, and I don’t like to just bang on about myself, that’s not what my blog’s for, however, here’s my latest work which I’m very proud of and I promise I’ll get some more juicy design stuff up here asap 😀

This is the bi-annual IET North West Regional news magazine, distributed to it’s thousands of members in the North West. It’s always a challenge to take something like engineering, so seldom the subject of creative artwork, and produce something appealing to younger more visually demanding readers. With this is was all about a solid layout plan, a sharp typeface and simple, powerful images.

Wirral TweetUp Logo

I’ve just finished this little complimentary logo for the Wirral TweetUp event being held on Tuesday 23rd February at Cromwells restaurant in Irby. Cromwells have also got a Wirral TweetUp account running – www.twitter.com/wirraltweetup – you can follow them there for all the latest updates.

This is the main logo that will be used wherever possible. There’s also an icon version, a URL version and all the different combinations they create.
